| Peter Wörndl, Germany/ 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible V8 289 cui, purchased rebuilt exchange engine June 2001 Due to a referral from Gehrke US-Cars in Traunreuth, Gemany I requested a quote for a rebuilt exchange engine. Yankee Motors quoted 50% less than a local machine shop. Although I demanded an engine that was originally cast in 1966 with matching casting numbers Yankee Motors was able to deliver within the same week! I have put about 30,000 miles on the engine including several vacation trips to Croatia and Italy without any problems. The engine consumes no oil and I am completely pleased with my purchase. I have referred Yankee Motors several times meanwhile. |
Uwe Schaefer, Germany/ 1958 Buick Roadmaster V8 364 cui, engine rebuilt December 2007 After working on a complete frame off restoration for 8 years it was now time to get the engine rebuilt. When I purchased the car the engine was already disassembled due to a bearing failure. Quality was my main concern during my restoration project, therefore I was looking for a trustworthy specialist with a great reputation to work on “the heart” of my Buick. After an elaborate investigation I decided to use Yankee Motors for my rebuilding needs even though I live almost 400 kilometers away from Nuernberg. The kind and yet professional advice from the owner Matt Mueller during several phone conversations convinced me in my decision. The price I was quoted was also quite reasonable for the work to be done. Matt personally welcomed us when my wife and I delivered the engine to Nuernberg. After a first visual inspection of the engine he took time to guide us through the shop explaining the different equipment, tooling and machining steps. We were already impressed from the shop but when we entered his office we were fully enthusiastic about his great collection of 50s and 60s automotive memorabilia which would be an honor for every museum. Awesome! Per our agreement I was able to pick up the fully remanufactured and tested engine four weeks later without any delays. All the work done to the engine was documented on a photo cd, an extra service Matt offered us at no extra cost. Even after the sale Matt was always available to patiently answer any questions we had. My summary: The engine of my Buick Roadmaster purrs like a kitten, my order was handled very professionally, with convenient, personal and kind service. I would not hesitate to take the long trip back to Nuernberg to get another engine or transmission rebuilt. I seriously refer Yankee Motors to any American car enthusiast! Thank you for everything! It could not have been better. |
Wolfgang Britsch, Germany. 1961 Plymouth Fury, transmission revision Cast Iron Torqueflite “Push Button” March 2024: I wanted to personally thank you again for the great work you have done. We have now had the transmission checked after 500 km and have had no problems with it. My family is very happy that our Plymouth Fury now shifts properly and runs reliably as far as the transmission is concerned. I think it's great that there are still people like you who can still repair these classic cars. I will recommend you wherever I can. |
| Alexandro Kühne, Switzerland/ 1968 Buick Riviera V8 430 cui, engine rebuilt July 2008 The engine runs great. I enjoy cruising again… |
| Ralf Seltenheim, Deutschland/ 1941 Cadillac Flathead V8 346 cui, engine rebuilt November 2006 + 1937 Buick line 8 248 cui engine rebuilt June 2010 I found out about Yankee Motors through their ads in several classic car magazines I purchased during my restoration project. I was looking for qualified professionals to work on my gorgeous Flathead engine. Today after 4 years of elaborate restoration I know that my decision for Yankee Motors was perfectly right! Mr. Mueller was always a reliable partner in every aspect of the engine rebuild and beyond. In 2010 they rebuilt another vintage engine for my 1937 Buick in the same professional manner and I can only recommend their services to anybody in the American classic car scene. |
| Jürgen Zöh, Germany/ 1965 T-Bird, engine- and transmission rebuilt April 2007 In September 2006 I started a frame off restoration on my 65 T-Bird. Optical and mechanical I wanted the car in perfect condition. After some investigation I ended up with Yankee Motors. Talking to Mr. Mueller on the phone gave me a very confident feeling. I decided I want them to rebuild my engine and transmission. Both engine and transmission were processed in a timely manner. Especially the engine required a lot of attention: boring and honing the cylinders, new valves and guides, new bearings and everything else necessary for a complete rebuild has been taken care off within schedule. Actually, the bodywork was not even finished yet when I picked up the rebuilt engine and transmission in Nuernberg. Look at the photos to decide whether or not I achieved my restoration goals. The rebuilt transmission shifts perfect. The engine had one noisy valve lifter after the initial startup which Yankee Motors promptly fixed. Both engine and transmission provide lots of power like in the days when my car has left the plant and I believe I will have many years of fun ahead with my T-bird. I can recommend Yankee Motors without a second thought: great work, lots of know-how and fast response. This is how I met these guys. |
Constant Feltz, Luxembourg/ 1962 Ford Thunderbird V8 390 cui, purchased rebuilt exchange engine March 2006 I own a blue metallic 1962 Ford Thunderbird which I bought from a used car dealer in Freigericht (close to Hanau) in March 2003. In August the engine broke down and I ordered a rebuilt motor in the United States (Phoenix, Arizona) but it turned out that I had no luck with my purchase. There was a problem with a rocker arm and some valves and the engine would not run properly on all 8 cylinders. In September 2005 a friend who works as a mechanic advised me to either get the engine rebuilt from scratch or to install an exchange motor. In his opinion the engine I recently purchased was “wasted”. In July 2006 I had an engine installed which was rebuilt from Yankee Motors. I have no complaints, the engine runs smooth with a lot of power and torque and the professionals at Yankee Motors are never shy to answer any questions. The contact is very friendly, kind and trustworthy. |
Thomas Nentwig, Germany/ 1976 Lincoln Mark IV V8 460 cui, automatic transmission rebuilt (Ford C6) August 2008 Dear Mr. Mueller, This is a photo of my car which is fully back on the road thanks to your rebuilding services! |
Kai Hissbach, Austria/ 1997 Chevrolet Astro Van LT AWD V6 4.3, purchased rebuilt exchange engine September 2003 I contacted Yankee Motors after discovering their ad in the “Chrom und Flammen” magazine when the engine on my car broke down. My first impression was very positive, I received a detailed and elaborate quote only a few hours after I faxed my request. The following phone conversation with the owner Mr. Mueller was very competent, clear and serious. All competitor quotes were higher without offering the same elaborate information. During the installation the mechanics at Yankee Motors unveiled even more defects on my car and kept informing me promptly. I am very pleased with the rebuilt exchange engine, all work was done very professionally. The engine runs very good and consumes less than 1 liter oil every 10,000 kilometers. All repairs were done in a competent and timely manner as previously agreed. Several defects that have not been recognized by the shops that worked previously on my vehicle were unveiled and repaired during the engine installation. I have put about 20,000 kilometers on the engine including an extensive vacation trip to Italy. In summary I am very satisfied with how my business was handled, Yankee Motors can be assured of my referral. |
| Christine Kraemer, Germany/ 1967 Ford Mustang V8 289 cui, purchased rebuilt exchange engine October 2004 and automatic transmission rebuilt (Ford C4) April 2005 Due to several referrals from friends I contacted Yankee Motors after an engine failure was diagnosed on my Ford Mustang I had recently imported from the US. The contact, the technical advice and the installation of an exchange engine out of their inventory happened in a very reliable, competent and professional manner. I was positively surprised being regularly updated about the progress during the installation. I was only able to put approximately 500 miles on my new engine until late fall, however I have asked Yankee Motors to rebuild my installed C4 automatic transmission. Once the work is complete I will enjoy a season of elaborate test driving. I would recommend Yankee Motors for sure! |
| Peter Czichon, Germany/ 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air V8 350 cui High Performance approx. 365 PS, purchased rebuilt exchange automatic transmission (GM/Chevrolet TH700R4) May I knew Yankee Motors from their info booth at a local swap meet and their advertising campaign in the “Street Magazine”. Even though we have several transmission shops in my hometown Frankfurt I am glad that I drove the extra miles to Nuernberg to get the job done right. The owner Mr. Mueller takes a lot of time to discuss problems and to offer practicle solutions. He was able to make the technical aspect understandable for a non-professional in every detail, the order was processed exactly as prior discussed, the balance was considered very fair and reasonable among other members of my American car club. I can recommend Yankee Motors in every aspect of the trade. Good-Better-Yankee Motors Got questions? |
